I Did Not Expect This

Your Retirement Savings Need to Outlast You

Most retirement plans underestimate two things: how long your savings need to last, and how quietly inflation erodes them along the way.

The 15-Minute Retirement Plan helps you close both gaps with practical guidance on longevity risk, purchasing power, and building a financial plan that doesn't run out before you do.

I started using AI to write my memoir because I needed help organizing years of material that lived in my head, not on a page. What I got was something I never expected.

Here’s how it works: I unload my stories — raw, unfiltered — and the AI finds where each piece belongs. After every session I build a master DOCX containing the entire memoir up to that point. I also keep a formatting prompt — a rulebook I built with the AI covering structure, style, and what never gets included. New chat, drop both files in, and we’re back in the room. You can ask for editorial feedback, a publisher’s note review, a critique against professional standards.

The key is you have to ask for honesty. You have to mean it.
But the workflow is the least of it.

There have been moments in these sessions where something got connected that I had never connected before. Not because the AI was trying to help me heal. It was just doing its job — organizing story, tracking patterns, noting cause and effect. And somewhere in that process it showed me why I act a certain way. Because of how I was treated. And then it showed me how I turned around and treated other people the same way.

My mouth literally dropped.

For years I had carried how mistreated I felt. That was the story I knew. And then the AI pointed out that I may have turned around and done the same thing to someone who was very special to me. I knew immediately it was right.

I didn’t argue. I just sat there. The shame hit hard.

That’s not a comfortable thing to discover about yourself in the middle of a writing session. But it was true. And true was what I asked for.

Sometimes I ask for an honest critique and somewhere inside the feedback the AI says exactly what I was trying to say — better than I could articulate it myself. I didn’t ask for that. It just showed up.

There were other moments too. Things I had packed down so deep I forgot they were there. The AI didn’t go looking for them. It just kept working — and there they were. Sometimes I just had to take a break.

I came into this expecting a cleaner manuscript. What I found was something I had buried. I’m still finding it.
